Abstract:
A carbon fiber ultramicro-electrode was electrodeposited by nickel hydroxide nanoparticles for fabrication of nonenzymatic glucose sensor. The microstructure and chemical composition of the electrodes were investigated using a scanning electron microscope. The electrocatalytic glucose oxidation behavior of sensing electrode was investigated by cyclic voltammetry and amperometric measurements in alkaline medium. The results of electrochemical measurements demonstrated that the fabricated sensor displayed high sensitivity (848.8 µA µM-1 cm-2) with a low detection limit (0.1µM) and wide linear range from (0.4 µM- 160 µM) for glucose detection.
