Abstract:
In this paper, cotton fabrics were treated with reduced graphene oxide (RGO) sheets successfully. The effect of the GO concentration was investigated. The treated fabrics were tested by a homemade solar simulator for the water desalination usage under one sun illumination for 60 minutes by the periods of 15 minutes. The water mass change and the enhancement in water evaporation rate compared with the control sample for the best-treated fabric were 1.5 kg/m2h and 56.05%, respectively. The field emission microscopy (FWSEM) images were used to analyse the results. The results showed that the graphene oxide sheets have an important role in solar steam generation systems as a broadband absorber.
