Abstract:
TmVO4 nanocrystals were productively synthesized by facile sonochemical procedure for 30 min. In order to optimize the particle size and morphology, the effect of capping agent was investigated. The properties and characteristics of nanoscale thulium vanadate were examined by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS) analysis and ultraviolet–visible (UV–Vis) spectroscopy. The photocatalytic activity of TmVO4 nanoparticles were studied by degradation of methyl violet under visible light irradiation. The maximum decolorization of methyl violet dye is about 34.44 %.
