Abstract:
The composite of Polyacrylonitrile/Ni-metal organic framework (PAN/Ni-MOF-74) nanofibers were successfully preparead by a simple and available electrospinning method and evaluated as the sorbent in spin column micro extraction technology (SC- μSPE) for the enrichment of atenolol (ATN) and captopril (CAP) before being determined by high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). The electrospun nanofibers were characterized by field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM), energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) and X-ray diffraction analysis (XRD). The entire procedure including sample loading, washing, and eluting of the target analytes was performed by the centrifugation of the spin column. The effect of pH, the mass of electrospun PAN/ Ni-MOF-74 nanofibers, the centrifugation speed, the amount of MOF loaded in nanofibers and the number of cycles in both adsorption and desorption steps were optimized. Under optimum conditions, the calibration curves were linear for both drugs in the range of 0.3 – 500 ng mL-1 with a detection limit of 0.15 and 0.13 ng mL-1 for ATN and CAP respectively, and the regression coefficient was above 0.9991. Acceptable values for intraday of five replicate extractions were obtained ≤7.8.
