Abstract:
Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) are a group of nano-porous hybrid materials also known as coordination polymers which have attracted great interests due to their special properties such as high porosity and crystalline nature. Therefore, they have been recognized as suitable candidates for a variety of applications like gas-sensing, gas adsorption, gas storage, catalyst and so on. These materials have been synthesized by a variety of methods. In this paper, a metal-organic framework (Cu-BTC) has been synthesized by using ultrasound radiation which is recently recognized as a low-temperature, low-cost, rapid and effective method for synthesizing nanomaterials. The structural, morphological, chemical composition and porosity properties of the sample have been investigated by X-ray diffraction (XRD), field emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM), energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS) and nitrogen adsorption-desorption analysis (BET), respectively. The results showed that this new and simple method allows the production of these compounds in a shorter time and with good quality.
