Abstract |
CoFe2O4 magnetic nanoparticles were synthesized on the surface of single layer graphene oxide (GO) via a facile hydrothermal procedure. The morphology, chemical composition and structure of the sample were characterized using field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM), energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX), elemental mapping and X-ray diffraction (XRD) technique. Tetracycline (TC) antibiotic (30 ppm) was used as the probe material to measure the photocatalytic degradation efficiency of the visible light driven heterogeneous photocatalyst. The ultimate value of 78% degradation efficiency was obtained using CoFe2O4/GO photocatalyst after 180 minutes of visible light illumination. |
