Abstract:
Abstract: New imidazolyl-functionalized ordered mesoporous cross-linked polymer with 3D cubic structure was prepared by the copolymerization of the ionic liquid 3-benzyl-1-vinyl-1-H-imidazolium bromide with divinylbenzene as the cross-linker and azobisisobutyronitrile as the radical initiator in the presence of O-silylated KIT-6 as the hard template. The material was characterized using Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), thermo-gravimetric analysis (TGA), N2 sorption analysis, transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and elemental analysis (CHN). The material demonstrated a combination of exciting features such as high thermal decomposition temperature, high surface area, cubic mesoporous connectivity, available pore system and highly ionic density in the channels at the same time.
