Size Determination of Metal Nanoparticles by In-Plane Reflection Shift

Using linearly polarized laser beam, reflection shifts of a two-dimensional hexagonal array of gold nanoparticles on water substrate are investigated theoretically. In closed pack arrays, the in-plane spatial shift gets zero for specific angles of radiation. It provides a simple method to estimate size of nanoparticles.
