Abstract:
Abstract: Fluorescent carbon dots and carbon nanoparticles have attracted great attention. Various precursors have been used as raw materials to synthesize carbon dots. Nevertheless, all these methods suffer from some drawbacks like the requirement of tedious synthetic methodology or the use of toxic/expensive solvents and starting materials. Therefore, the development of facile, green and controllable synthesis of color-switchable carbon dots is still highly desirable. In this study, we reported a controllable strategy for fabrication of green and blue fluorescent carbon dots from natural precursor. Green and blue fluorescent carbon dots have been synthesized by hydrothermal method and pyrolysis of milk product, respectively, providing an easy way for the production of carbon dots without the request of tedious synthetic methodology or the use of toxic/expensive solvents and starting materials.
