Abstract
Using molecular dynamics simulations proposing capacitance model, we study the abnormal dielectric
properties of nanoconfined water in cation intercalated MXene. A model for the electric double-layer capacitor is
constructed where water molecules are strongly confined into the two-dimensional slits of MXene and exhibit an
abnormal dielectric constant and polarization in the presence of intercalats. We found that by decreasing the ionic radius of the intercalated cations and for a critical hydration shell the capacitance of the system increases significantly.
