Abstract
In this study,Mesoporous sulfur-doped graphitic carbon nitride (MCNS) nanosheets were synthesized using thiourea as a low cost precursor and SiO2 gel solution as a template through a simple thermal condensation method. The MCNS nanosheets were achieved at different temperatures (416, 450, 500, 550 and 584 °C) for diverse times (139, 180, 240, 300 and 341 min). then they were characterized in terms of their chemical structure, morphology, optical and electronic properties using various analysis including XRD, TEM, FT-IR, BET, XPS, PL and DRS techniques. It was found that incorporation of sulfur into the carbon nitride framework inherently resulted in increasing charge transfer and electrical conductivity of the semiconductor. Also,The XRD patterns illustrated that when the temperature reacheed 500 °C (MCNS-4 sample), only two distinct diffraction peaks were observed which were located at 13.1 and 27.4° corresponding to in-plane structural packing motif and the interplanar stacking unit (002) of aromatic systems, respectively.
