Abstract:
In this study, MgFe2O4/CNTs (CNT: Carbon Nano Tube) nanoparticles were prepared by the use of coprecipitation method. The achieved precipitate was calcined in the temperatures 400 ºC to 800 ºC. The phases of the calcined powder were determined by the use of X-ray diffraction (XRD), and the mean value of the crystallites size was calculated through Scherrer equation. The surface morphology of these nanoparticles was evaluated by scanning electronic microscope (SEM). Optical properties were measured by the use of UV-Visible spectroscopy in the range of 200 to 1000 nanometers. The results show that by increase of the calcined temperature, the size of nanoparticles increases, but the amount of Optical energy gap decreases.Spinel nanoferrites with the general formula MgFe2O4 are compound semiconductor material belonging to II-VI family, used in different areas such as construction of photoelectric equipment, pharmaceuticals, medical, optical sensors. nano-composites show also distinctcharacteristics even in different sizes. In this study, synthesis of MgFe2O4 / CNTs was performed using direct deposition method.
