Abstract:
Chelation is a type of ions/ molecules bonding to metal ions. Preparing of xanthate acetamide is intermediate substrate and can grafted on the nanoparticles (MNPs) as a nano-chelating agents. The attachment of acetamido xanthate nanoparticles to the Fe3O4 nanoparticles confirmed by FTIR analysis. In concurrent use of acetamido xanthate@nanoparticles )AX@MNPs( with metals, they may bind together and result to formation complex by chelating. In present study, the experimental detail for preparation of AX-MNPs and their applications for the removal of heavy metal ions from wastewater were systematically reported. The Fe3O4@SiO2/APTS core-shell nanoparticles were characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Fourier-transform infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy and thermal analysis (TA). Chelating agent was characterized by nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy. The attachment of acetamido xanthate to nanoparticles to the Fe3O4 nanoparticles confirmed by FTIR analysis. In concurrent use of AX@MNPs with metals, they may bind together and result to formation complex by chelating.
