Abstract:
The effects of graphene nano platelet (GNP) and acrylonitrile (ACN) content on the relaxation properties of nitrile rubber (NBR) prepared by melt intercalation method were studied. The compounding of samples was done in a two-roll mill. The formulation of nanocomposites based on incorporation of 3 part per hundred (phr) of GNP. After preparation of the samples, the relaxation behaviour of nanocomposites compared with the blends containing different ACN was investigated. In continue, the standard linear solid (SLS) model was used to predict the relaxation behaviour of samples. In the presence of GNP, the relaxation modulus was raised. The same procedure resulted in samples with higher ACN groups. The difference between initial and final relaxation modulus (ΔG') was raised by the addition of GNP to the NBR and samples with higher ACN content. The relaxation time (τ) of samples were calculated using standard linear solid (SLS) model. This parameter was higher in the nanocomposites and samples with higher ACN content.
